Job Overview

This role supports the repair and rebuild of heavy equipment by assisting with diagnostics, minor repairs, and component overhauls. The position focuses on helping assess repair needs, maintaining tools, and contributing to rebuilds of motors and gearboxes, while ensuring work is completed accurately and safely. It also involves inspecting and processing parts to determine usability, all within a collaborative, team-oriented shop environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in laying out and performing repairs with accuracy and quality.
  • Assist with assessing equipment repair needs and repair processes.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining and performing minor repairs to most assigned tooling.
  • Auxiliary in equipment component rebuilds and gear box rebuilds.
  • Auxiliary in processing parts (inspect, clean, deem reusable or scrap).
  • Working in a diverse team environment.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 2 – 5 years related mechanical experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments: mag particle tester, micrometer, laser aligner, caliper and bore gauges.
  • Associates or Millwright Degree and minimum 2 years job specific mechanical experience.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and electrical.
  • Basic welding and torch experience.
