Electric Distribution Designer
About the role
We are looking for a Electric Distribution Designer to help design and accomplish electric distribution customer projects. You will blend technical design, project coordination, customer interaction, and fieldwork, offering a dynamic and hands-on experience in the utility industry.
You'll help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient electric service delivery while collaborating across engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage electric distribution projects for residential and commercial customers
- Perform field assessments and site visits to evaluate project requirements
- Develop system designs using GE Smallworld (GIS) and other tools
- Complete tasks such as:
- Transformer sizing
- Underground cable routing
- Pole placement and layout
- Review and interpret construction plans and customer requirements
- Cook up with Operations, Distribution Engineers, and our teams to ensure system reliability
- Communicate with customers to explain project scope, timelines, and technical details
- Support permitting and project documentation
Qualifications
- A highschool diploma/GED
- Basic electrical knowledge or interest in the utility industry

Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $27.00/hour to $31.00/hour.
