Responsibilities

  • Facilitate rigorous learning by delivering cognitively engaging lessons incorporating instructional methodologies
  • Engage in critical reflection to increase teaching effectiveness
  • Participate in a professional community across your school site and the Green Dot network
  • Develop partnerships within the community by communicating with families and leveraging resources to support student success
  • Teach Physical Education and other electives (e.g., Art)
  • Co-teach alongside other teachers to deliver differentiated, standards-based instruction
  • Collaborate with other teachers to plan, implement, and adapt lessons meeting student learning needs
  • Provide targeted small-group instruction to reinforce and develop academic skills
  • Deliver intervention services using evidence-based instructional strategies
  • Grade assignments, assessments, and classwork
  • Support classroom instruction through lesson implementation, classroom management, and student engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)

Qualifications

For California-Based Educators:

  • Possess a valid California Preliminary or Clear Multiple Subject Credential AND 12 units of physical education (e.g., Aquatics, fundamental and creative movement, gymnastics, interscholastic sports, motor development or learning, physical conditioning, sports, weightlifting, etc.)
  • Have a valid CPR certification meeting standards established by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

For Out-of-State or Non-Credentialed Applicants:

  • Assess teaching eligibility in a California public school via the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (eligibility required as of July 2026)

Pay

For credentialed teachers, the current salary scale ranges from $73,218 to $131,825, depending on level of education and years of experience.
