ELA Team Teacher (Grades 6-8

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with Maine Learning Results and district curriculum.
• Co-plan, co-teach, and collaborate with special education teachers and other support staff to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Use evidence-based literacy practices to support the development of reading, writing, vocabulary, and language skills.
• Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports within inclusive classroom settings.
• Analyze student data and adjust instruction to improve student outcomes.
• Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, growth, and achievement.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and learning goals.
• Participate in team meetings, professional learning, and collaborative planning.
• Support district initiatives related to literacy improvement, MTSS, and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or related field.
• Current certification in 6-12 English Language Arts from the State of Maine.
• Experience working collaboratively in a team-teaching environment.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices and the Science of Reading.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports to diverse learners.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with data analysis and using results to inform instruction.
