About the Role
SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has an immediate part-time (.6 FTE) opening for a remote Middle School English teacher to teach in our Elevate Online program. SouthWest Metro serves students in 11 member districts and 8 associate member districts across the southwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area with programs in Special Education, Career and Technical Education, Care & Treatment, Adult Education, and Alternative Education.
Job Summary
Provide support by working directly with students in their synchronous (live) classes. Support provided will include working with students 1:1 to answer questions and provide alternative assignments when needed, grading and assessing student work, and maintaining high levels of communication with students and guardians. Class curriculum has been developed and will be provided. This position is a fully remote teaching position.
Qualifications
- Minnesota Teaching License for Middle School English Language Arts
- Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams
