EKT TEACHER/INSTRUCTOR

EKT Program Overview

The Early Kindergarten Transition (EKT) program is a two-week summer initiative offered at SUN schools. It aims to prepare incoming kindergarten students for a successful academic year through a combination of academics, play, arts, music, exploration, and fostering friendships in an inclusive and joyful environment.

Qualifications

• State of Oregon TSPC license with proper endorsement, highly qualified status
• Current first-aid certification
• Experience in teaching children and creating lesson plans
• Desire and ability to work with children and ensure an enriching, positive, safe setting
• Excellent organization skills and interpersonal communication skills
• A cooperative manner and the ability to work as part of a team
• A willingness to ask questions for clarification and job completion
• Demonstrate excitement in working with children

Training

• Growing Up Wild Curriculum Training: July 1, 2026, 9:00am-2:00pm
• Teacher Training (virtual): July 10, 2026, 10:00am-12:00pm

EKT Program Dates

• EKT Program: August 10th-20th, 2026, Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-1:30pm
