EKG Technician - Cardiology Lab Orange - P/T Days

About the role

Reports to the Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Center. Performs ECGs, Holter monitors and data management. Assists in the stress lab and sets up TEE when needed. Processes and teaches physicians to read ECGs online using the ECG management system data base.

Responsibilities

• Understand medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels
• Perform ECGs, Holter monitor testing and data management
• Assist in the stress lab and set up TEE when needed
• Process and teach physicians to read ECGs online using the ECG management system data base
• Display professional conduct at all times in interactions with other staff members, patients and visitors
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and versatile

Requirements

• One year of experience in an acute care setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certificate of completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia class
• Knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias
• Ability to recognize arrhythmias
• Read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels
• Basic Life Support Education

Skills

• Working knowledge of Title 22 and JCAHO standards
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
