EKG Technician

About the Role

Performs routine electrocardiography, holter monitoring, and is technically competent in exercise and pharmacologic stress testing and other special procedures. Collects information pertinent to the interpretation of the test. Provides care to patients of varying ages and age-related needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrocardiography (EKG).
• Conduct holter monitoring.
• Perform exercise and pharmacologic stress testing.
• Collect and document information relevant to test interpretation.
• Provide patient care across various age groups.

Requirements

• Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of an EKG Technician.
• Comprehensive knowledge, skills, and ability in routine electrocardiography, holter monitoring, and exercise/pharmacological stress testing.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
• Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Basic computer keyboard skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Previous EKG Technician work experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
