EHS Specialist

Job Summary

The EHS Specialist at Veolia Minnetonka, MN facility is responsible for implementing and administering all Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and OSHA compliance programs. This role aims to create a healthy and accident-free work environment through hazard recognition, evaluation, and control.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate EHS laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines
• Support and improve EHS programs and practices to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate associated risks
• Support the Management of Change Program and conduct safety inspections
• Participate in incident investigations and participate in sustainability initiatives and reporting
• Promote behavioral based safety
• Ensure all employee and contractor training is completed, documented, and maintained

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, Engineering, or Environmental Science, or relevant experience; 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role at a chemical, (or industrial) manufacturing facility
• Preferred: Professional certification(s) such as: Certified Safety Professional (CSP®), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or related professional certification(s) or current in process
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with plant management and production employees
• Working knowledge in ergonomics, noise, confined space, machine guarding, and chemical approvals
• Experience in Industrial Hygiene
• Knowledge of working with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
• Experience with PHA and starting up new operations

• Compensation: Salary range is $85,000 - 94,000 annually, with a 3% default contribution plus matching in the 401(k) plan.
