EHS Specialist
About the Role
This full-time EHS Specialist position supports the overall delivery of Environmental, Health, and Safety at the Liberty Diversified International manufacturing location in Poway, CA. The role is accountable for executing EHS initiatives, partnering with plant leadership and the broader LDI EHS team to deploy programs, administer incident/injury management, coordinate emergency response, track site-level KPIs, and ensure compliance while minimizing risk. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintains EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Performs EHS training for new hires and recurrent training as required.
- Maintains a production floor presence and supports people leaders’ safety performance.
- Coordinates the STOP Behavioral Safety Program by ensuring wide participation.
- Ensures incidents and injuries are investigated according to expectations.
- Collaborates with the Shared Services EHS Director and EHS peers across business units for best practices on policies and training.
- Utilizes the Velocity EHS management system to organize and complete EHS action items.
- Conducts emergency response team drills for incidents such as injured employee, severe weather, lockdown, and fire drills.
- Coordinates the implementation of sustainability projects and programs within the designated location(s).
- Communicates with the EHS team to utilize and coordinate all EHS electronic platforms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of EHS program management experience or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
- Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English, including strong presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing multiple tasks and prioritization.
- Attention to detail and capability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in building relationships, training, and coaching.
- Has or is working toward a professional EHS certification.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to actively participate in team development.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Eligibility in benefit programs is based on hours worked per week.
Pay
The starting base salary range for this position is $76,722 – $95,902 per year. The posted compensation is the anticipated pay range at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on factors including education, certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
Physical Requirements
