About the role

As an EHS Specialist, you will implement the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program at the facility level, serving as a member of the site leadership team. This role requires strong cross-functional partnership with operations and human resources, knowledge of EHS regulations, and effective communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the site team to implement the EHS Program and respective policies.
  • Audit the effectiveness of the site EHS program, including the annual corporate audit.
  • Provide EHS training to all site personnel.
  • Maintain all pertinent safety and environmental records.
  • Manage workers' compensation files and investigate incidents.
  • Generate internal and external reports as required.
  • Execute the site inspection program for safety and environmental regulations.
  • Accompany state, federal, and local inspectors from various agencies.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, and regulatory agencies.
  • Act as the local expert on EHS requirements, providing guidance to the site leadership team.
  • Support multiple facilities and corporate/nationwide EHS projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Safety/Environmental Science or related field and 2 years of manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with compliance management in a manufacturing facility operating under a Title V Air Permit.
  • Experience managing a full Respiratory Protection Program and Hearing Conservation Program.
  • Familiarity with Powered Industrial Truck safety and Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E).
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and set and reach goals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present and train in front of an audience.
  • Competency in maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Pay

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000. Starting pay varies based on location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
