Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation to support regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies, programs, and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements, including Title V air permit and wastewater discharge reporting.
- Design and deliver safety training programs for managers and employees on topics such as fire prevention, lockout/tagout (LOTO), fall protection, hazardous materials handling, and safe work practices.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and audits to identify safety, health, and environmental risks; implement corrective and preventive actions and verify completion.
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events; determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare, compile, and submit required regulatory, environmental, and incident reports to corporate leadership and government agencies.
- Administer the Workers’ Compensation program, coordinating with corporate resources to manage claims and reduce lost-time incidents.
- Ensure timely acquisition, renewal, and maintenance of all required environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory filings.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and training to personnel involved in EHS activities to strengthen program effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
- Congduct risk assessments and analyze accident trends, injury data, and workplace hazards to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the primary site contact for local, state, and federal regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance inquiries.
- Ensure site-level alignment with corporate EHS standards, initiatives, and management system requirements.
- Manage EHS-related contractors, consultants, vendors, and associated projects to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field; or relevant working experience as an equivalency.
- Five to eight years’ experience working in an EHS leader role supporting a manufacturing facility.
- Professional certification in Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety preferred.
- Proven knowledge of safety and environmental management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
