Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily safety support for construction crews, subcontractors, and site leadership.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA, Intel EHS requirements, and project/site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct routine field inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Identify unsafe behaviors/conditions and stop work as needed to correct imminent hazards.
  • Verify proper use of PPE, fall protection, barricading, LOTO awareness, ladder safety, and equipment practices.
  • Ensure work is performed in alignment with approved Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/AHA), permits, and Intel-specific procedures.

Inspections, Reporting & Documentation

  • Perform and document daily/weekly safety walks; track findings through closure.
  • Aid in maintaining safety documentation including: Site Safety Plans, AHA/JHA documentation, Toolbox Talks / safety meeting rosters, Permit tracking (hot work, confined space, elevated work, etc.), Training records and competency verification.
  • Support required project metrics reporting (observations, audits, leading/lagging indicators).
  • Aid with compliance activities such as barricade inspections, fire extinguisher checks, and housekeeping reviews.

Incident Management & Corrective Actions

  • Respond to and assist with injury/incident investigations.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and development of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Track corrective actions to completion and verify effectiveness in the field.
  • Support near-miss reporting program and safety observation initiatives to drive proactive prevention.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience (industrial construction preferred).
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification (minimum requirement).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards including fall protection, scaffolding, trenching, electrical safety, and PPE.
  • Ability to lead field-level safety activities, inspections, and coaching.
  • Proven ability to produce safety documentation (JHAs/AHAs, inspection reports, incident reports).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with craft employees, foremen, supervisors, and client representatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in an active construction environment including extended walking, climbing ladders/stairs, and occasional lifting.
