About the role
We are seeking an experienced EHS Program Specialist to lead the development and implementation of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety initiatives within a large manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong combination of EHS technical knowledge, project management, technical writing, and program implementation experience. The selected professional will take ownership of the initiative and drive implementation from initial assessment through rollout and completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead site-level implementation of new corporate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) standards
- Develop an Autonomous Guided Industrial Vehicle (AGIV) safety program from the ground up, including procedures, training materials, inspections, and supporting documentation
- Review existing Electric Powered Hand Truck (EPHT) and physical barrier programs, identify gaps, and implement necessary updates
- Translate corporate EHS requirements into practical site-specific procedures and communicate requirements across affected operational groups
- Coordinate program rollout, training, stakeholder meetings, action items, and implementation activities
- Manage schedules, milestones, documentation, and closure requirements to drive the project through completion
Requirements
- EHS/Safety experience within General Industry, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety and General Industry safety requirements
- Experience developing and implementing EHS programs, SOPs, policies, and training
- Strong technical writing, administrative, and project/program management skills
- Experience interpreting corporate standards, conducting gap assessments, and coordinating implementation across multiple groups
Qualifications
- BCSP certification preferred but not required
- Pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing experience is a plus
