On-siteEngineering$76k–$145k/yrFull-time

Samsung is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, founded on the belief that the pursuit of excellence creates a better world. At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, we are Innovating Today to Power the Devices of Tomorrow.

About the role

The EHS Process Innovation Engineer is a strategic catalyst for the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) organization at a high-tech semiconductor fab. Reporting to the EHS leadership team, you will own and advance the site-wide “Journey to Zero” vision, driving the Leading Safety Metric (LSM) program and the Level-Up Safety Training initiative. By blending data-driven analysis, creative problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration, you will raise safety performance, cut risk, and embed a proactive safety culture where every employee is empowered to act as a safety leader. Beyond program ownership, you will partner with departments to plan and execute safety-focused projects, produce KPI dashboards and communications that keep leadership and the workforce aligned. Your role as a thought leader will involve introducing new tools, technologies, and scalable methodologies, such as Human Organizational Performance (HOP), that enhance safety outcomes and operational efficiency across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Own the “Journey to Zero” program, advancing the site’s commitment to zero incidents and zero environmental harm through innovative processes, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the site’s Leading Safety Metric (LSM) initiative, driving proactive EHS actions, project completion, and measurable leading indicators across all departments.
  • Own and evolve the Level Up Safety Training Program, reinforcing the philosophy that everyone is a safety leader through instructor-led sessions, digital content, and cross-functional engagement.
  • Drive EHS communications & visual management: Produce monthly/quarterly KPI dashboards, safety highlights, and leadership messages; maintain visual boards that keep safety priorities top-of-mind.
  • Identify and implement process innovations: Analyze current EHS workflows, pinpoint data-visibility gaps, and create scalable solutions (e.g., new tools, automation, etc.).
  • Provide department-level project support: Lead safety-focused projects from scope to delivery, ensure cross-functional alignment, and verify measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in Health and Safety is required.
  • Experience with OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the Hierarchy of Controls and its application in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Experience developing or maintaining written EHS programs, procedures, and their implementation rollout.
  • A strong communicator, skilled in instructor-led training, facilitation, and employee engagement.
  • Ability to build dashboards, KPIs, and visual management tools.
  • Experience with strategic planning, program ownership, or cross-functional initiative leadership.
  • A collaborative partner who influences without authority and builds trust across all levels of the organization.

Pay
