About the role
Zing Recruiting is partnering with an innovative automotive manufacturer to lead safety, environmental, and occupational health initiatives within a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 12+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment; automotive manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Proven track record of building and implementing EHS and safety programs from the ground up or at a new/expanding manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to influence all levels of an organization and build a positive safety culture.
- Proficiency with EHS systems, reporting tools, and performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Environmental, Health & Safety programs across plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable environmental and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and drive sustainable corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, security, and leadership to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Monitor and report key EHS performance metrics and present results to leadership.
- Lead environmental compliance initiatives, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee occupational health programs and support employee wellness initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement projects that strengthen workplace safety and environmental performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to incidents, inspections, audits, permits, and compliance activities.
