About the role
We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team at CJ Schwan’s frozen ice cream and specialty foods plant in Marshall, MN. This role is critical in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety reports and documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Cookordination and facilitation of safety inspections by government agencies (OSHA, EPA, Insurance Carrier) and loss control providers.
- Development and implementation of safety/environmental procedures, programs, and training to reduce and eliminate workplace hazards.
- Leading Safety Committees.
- Conducting accident investigations and safety audits to ensure regulatory compliance and enforce plant safety rules.
- Providing safety training for supervisors and employees, maintaining accident records and supporting documentation.
- Ensuring facility, contractors, and vendors comply with safety/environmental regulations and submitting timely environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
- Performing hazard identification, risk evaluation, and implementing hazard control measures for various operations and projects.
- Documenting risk assessments, health and safety considerations in equipment and material procurement, and design specifications.
- Ensuring proper safety systems and personal protective equipment are in place to manage workplace hazards.
- Overseeing hazard reporting and corrective actions arising from accidents and safety concerns.
Requirements
- 7+ years of related work experience (at least half of which is manufacturing).
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or similar.
- Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations with respect to OSHA, Workers' Compensation, ADA, EPA regulations, USDA.
- Experience in Loss Control, and Industrial Health and Safety.
- Experience in Managed Care, Return-To-Work, and/or Claims Management.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $93,000 - $154,000 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus.
