EHS Manager

Role Summary

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is responsible for preventing workplace accidents and promoting environmental, health, and safety awareness across the organization. This role ensures employees and contractors follow applicable environmental, health, and safety laws, identifies and mitigates workplace hazards, and develops or improves policies and procedures that support a safer work environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Life Science, Pharmaceutical, or an equivalent regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of state and federal workplace health and safety laws and requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience providing strong project management oversight, including managing daily safety meetings with multiple contractors.
• Experience implementing and overseeing Lockout/Tagout programs.
• Certification in risk management and/or health and safety management.
• Experience managing chemical and biological waste operations in a regulated environment.
• Grade II Wastewater Operator License or ability to maintain required licensure.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and distinguish safety hazards.
• Solid understanding of data analysis and risk assessment methods.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to recognize when safety conditions require improvement and take appropriate action.
• Able to prioritize tasks effectively, especially when responding to accidents or incidents.
