Essential Functions
- Provide visible Safety & Health leadership and promote a Safety Culture at the Toronto Plant and NASC sites.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Review Lockout / Tagout & Tryout Procedures, Risk Assessment, Fire Plans, and Ergonomic Evaluations.
- Conduct or direct research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of a given system, operation, or process.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned.
- Review incident reports submitted by department / EHS personnel.
- Assist engineering / maintenance in capital expenditure projects.
- Provide environmental guidance to reduce waste streams, improve recycling initiatives, and projects to enhance the overall environmental footprint at the Toronto Mill and NASC sites.
- Maintain the Occupational Health – Safety Management System.
- Manage and budget Workers’ Compensation Program costs to reduce liability and reserves.
- Perform department environmental and safety audits.
- Cook up and direct Purchase Accounting Safety Projects.
- Complete and submit environmental permits and reports to appropriate federal, state, and local agencies.
- Develop and implement corporate wide Safety Programs for TIMET’s EHS Director.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ability to respond to after hour incidents.
- Perform Basic First Aid and CPR.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred, with 7-10 years of experience. Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus.
