Key Responsibilities
- Champion a zero-harm safety culture aligned with cGMP, HACCP/FSMA, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and performance targets.
- Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Manage site compliance activities including permits, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Provide leadership across all shifts and ensure effective incident response and business continuity.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve equipment efficiency (OEE) and reduce recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and reliability programs.
- Monitor and report EHS performance metrics and recommend actionable improvements.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
- Advise leadership on regulatory requirements, risks, and strategic priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 4+ years of management experience (or 2+ years with a Master’s degree).
- Strong knowledge of food safety and GMP environments.
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Hands-on problem solver with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and office setting with exposure to chemicals, allergens, enzymes, and elevated noise levels.
- Requires use of PPE including eye protection, gloves, lab coat, and safety footwear.
- Fast-paced environment with high expectations around safety, quality, and compliance.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to strengthen EHS capabilities and engagement.
- Promote safe work practices and reinforce a culture of shared responsibility.
- Ensure performance management processes and development conversations are completed.
