EHS Manager
About the role
DPR Construction is seeking an EHS Manager to implement DPR’s environmental health and safety plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned construction project(s) and business units. This role will work with the project management team and subcontractors to recognize and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with the EHSP using behavior-based safety techniques.
Responsibilities
- Lead and live DPR’s Safety NOW environment culture.
- Shepherd and develop career path safety coordinator(s).
- Lead pre-qualification processes between DPR and its subcontractors.
- Coach DPR and subcontractor management on safety leadership and management practices.
- Provide trending analysis for project and regional safety data on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis.
- Foster the development of safety programs and protocols.
- Develop and blend site-specific safety plans incorporating DPR’s and core market customers’ safe work practices.
- Assist with the continual development of new methods for abating hazards.
- Perform regular jobsite safety audits of worksite activities and share findings, corrective actions, and plans with project management.
- Escalate resources as necessary to maintain an injury-free environment.
- Monitor the subcontractor selection process and adherence to environmental, safety, and health guidelines.
- Measure team engagement regarding safety management practices.
- Maintain regional safety files, including training documentation, medical certifications, environmental testing, investigation reports, injury summaries, leading indicator data, and other safety and health documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on construction sites.
- OSHA 500 training.
- Competent person, train-the-trainer, and other activity-specific certifications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: Degree in safety management or CHST certification, manufacturing/pharmaceutical/OSHPD experience, or carpenter/laborer union affiliation.
Pay
Anticipated starting pay range: $144,000.00 – $170,000.00 (salary-based position).
