EHS Manager
About the Role
DPR Construction is seeking an EHS Manager to implement DPR’s environmental health and safety plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned construction projects/business units. This role involves working with project management teams and subcontractors to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with the EHSP using behavior-based safety techniques.
Responsibilities
- Lead and embody DPR’s Safety NOW environment culture.
- Mentor and develop career path safety coordinator(s).
- Lead pre-qualification processes between DPR and its subcontractors.
- Coach DPR/subcontractor management on safety leadership and management practices.
- Provide trending analysis for project/regional data on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis.
- Foster the development of safety programs and protocols.
- Develop and integrate site-specific safety plans that incorporate DPR’s and core market customers’ safe work practices.
- Assist in the continual development of new methods for hazard abatement.
- Perform regular jobsite safety audits and share findings, corrective actions, and plans with DPR project management.
- Ensure the maintenance of an injury-free environment, utilizing all necessary resources, including escalation when required.
- Monitor subcontractor selection and adherence to environmental safety and health guidelines.
- Measure team engagement regarding safety management practices.
- Handle administrative duties, including maintaining regional safety files (e.g., training documentation, medical certifications, investigation reports, and safety data).
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on construction sites.
- OSHA 500 training.
- Competent person, train-the-trainer, and other activity-specific certifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong oral and writing skills.
- Degree in safety management or CHST certification preferred.
- Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or OSHPD experience a plus.
- Carpenter or laborer union affiliation acceptable.
Pay
Anticipated Starting Pay Range: $144,000.00 - $170,000.00
