EHS Manager

Responsibilities

• Manages all environmental, health and safety activities that are required by Federal, State, Provincial, and various local government entities.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and reports improvement opportunities to top management.
• Provides environmental, health and safety training as required by company policy and regulatory authorities.
• Manages and improves the facility’s environmental, health and safety management system, based on ISO 14001 and 45001.
• Tracks environmental, health and safety performance.
• Plans, implements, and coordinates programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and regulatory risk.
• Identifies and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and liability; proactively develops strategies to mitigate risks.
• Develops accident-prevention programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization.
• Captures safety activities of unit managers to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout organization.
• Maintains liaison with outside organizations, such as fire departments, to assure information exchange and mutual assistance.
• Devises methods to evaluate safety program and conducts or directs evaluations.
• Evaluates technical and scientific publications concerned with safety management and participates in activities of related professional organizations to update knowledge of safety program developments.
• Shares skills and knowledge; trains other employees.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas.

Requirements

• Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years related work experience or 10 years related work experience.
• Preferred: Active member of an EHS-related professional association. Certified as an ASP/CSP/CHMM/CIH or an active learner who demonstrates deep knowledge of EHS issues.
• Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively. Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks. Proficient in internal and external networking. Proficient in multiple software applications including, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other industry related software (SDS, Injury Management, etc.).

Pay

Annual Salary: USD 96,600.00 - USD 127,000.00
