EHS Manager
About the role
The EHS Manager reports to the Plant Manager and plays a key strategic role in shaping, developing, and advancing the plant’s environmental, health, and safety function. This position is responsible for proactively designing and implementing safety and environmental programs that foster a safe, healthy, and engagement-driven work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the plant’s overall EHS strategy, including the annual EHS plan.
- Build and evolve a strong safety culture across the facility through leadership, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as corporate and plant policies.
- Assess current EHS practices, identify gaps, and implement innovative solutions to continuously improve performance.
- Partner closely with plant leadership to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and influential leader to managers, supervisors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Lead incident investigations and resolution processes, ensuring root causes are identified, and sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
- Cook up plant safety teams and initiatives, establishing processes and structures that support long-term success and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, or Environmental Management.
- 3–5 years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management experience required.
- American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) certification preferred.
- National Safety Council certification preferred.
- SWPPP Operator / SARA / CERCLA / RCRA certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supporting safety policy development, training, and regulatory compliance.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct public speaking and group training.
- Strong teamwork and employee engagement skills.
