EHS Manager

About the role

Arc is on a mission to electrify the marine industry. We're rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. We started with consumers to develop and harden our core technology and are now scaling production of our flagship model with new models and sectors on the horizon. We're extending our platform to commercial applications, starting with tugs, ferries, and defense, with years worth of signed contracts and a pipeline that spans every vessel type on the water.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the organization, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
• Work closely with operations leadership, engineers, and employees at all levels to implement best-in-class safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement
• Maintain and improve occupational safety programs such as high-voltage, crane safety, chemical management, incident management, industrial ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and air quality
• Manage safety ticketing system and associated metrics
• Lead accident/incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventative actions; manage occupational and/or workers compensation injuries
• Identify proactive workplace safety opportunities in a manufacturing environment and document safety inspections
• Own all hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including proper handling, labeling, and storage
• Recognize requirements and ensure compliance to safety programs and standards including: hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, lockout/tag-out (LOTO), machine guarding, power & hand-held tools, electrical, emergency response, and chemical management

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Occupational Safety or a related field; or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of managing and implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, CalOSHA, EPA, CUPA, SCAQMD, NIOSH)
• Working knowledge of ANSI standards

Pay

• Base salary for this role is P3: $140,000 or P4: $170,000 annually
• Highly competitive equity grants are included with full-time offers
• Semi-annual bonuses tied to your impact, not just your tenure
