About the role
We are seeking an EHS Manager to facilitate the establishment and promotion of a safe and healthy working environment and to recommend measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards in compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, and EPA regulations at a plant level.
Responsibilities
- Manage Safety & Health programs within Valley Metals to include Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
- Develop and provide guidance to all managers and supervisors at all locations.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS current and developing country and location regulations, codes and key constraints.
- Work with location and corporate EHS Team to develop and implement standardized programs to maintain full compliance with EHS regulations and standards to meet/exceed metrics.
- Measure plant performance benchmarking against best-in-class manufacturing to create and implement plans with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Develop, review, maintain and conduct EHS program training that are required to enhance EHS Performance.
- Provide strategic direction to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
- Implement/maintain behavior-based safety program.
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Assure proper recordkeeping of results in all areas and develop effective and efficient reporting mechanisms that meet the regulations and inform the leadership.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Occupation Safety and/or Environmental or related field, preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience and/or exposure in EHS role(s) involving leading, coaching employees, or Safety Committee membership.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Excellent leadership abilities and knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements.
- Knowledge and experience with Behavior Based Safety techniques.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience and/or exposure in EHS role(s) involving leading, coaching employees, or Safety Committee membership.
