EHS Manager

About the role

Western Pneumatic Tube Co., a division of AeroFlow Technologies, specializes in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. You’ll be part of a team whose products are aboard NASA’s Space Launch System and F-35 fighter jets, ensuring the highest level of quality and innovation.

As the EH&S Manager, you will facilitate the establishment and promotion of a safe and healthy working environment, recommending measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards in compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, WA State L&I, and EPA regulations at the plant level.

Responsibilities

• Manage Environmental, Safety & Health programs, including developing and providing guidance to all managers and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with all current and developing EH&S regulations, standards, codes, and key constraints.
• Manage quarterly, annual, and biennial reporting duties for City, State, and Federal compliance.
• Oversee environmental operations, wastewater treatment, and hazardous materials operations to avoid incidents, violations, and fines.
• Ensure all permits, registrations, and compliance filings are current and submitted on time.
• Manage L&I / Workers Compensation cases with Human Resources and plant Supervisors.
• Act as the primary contact for all employees on incident reporting, investigations, and hazard elimination.
• Track activity for lost work time, return-to-work initiatives, and restricted duty provisions.
• Develop, review, maintain, and conduct EH&S program training to enhance performance.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and verify program effectiveness.
• Lead emergency preparedness, crisis management, incident response, and workers compensation support activities.
• Provide strategic direction to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
• Lead the annual PPE hazard assessment process and ensure PPE requirements are documented and enforced for each operation.
• Implement and maintain a behavior-based safety program.
• Recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
• Assure proper recordkeeping of results in all areas and develop effective reporting mechanisms that meet regulations and inform leadership.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and/or Environmental or related field, preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in EHS roles involving leading, coaching employees, or Safety Committee membership.
• Ability to interact with all levels of employees.
• Excellent leadership abilities and knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of Washington State laws and Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) requirements.
• Knowledge and experience with Behavior Based Safety techniques.
