EHS Engineer CVG 100
Position Summary
The EHS Engineer is responsible for administering and coordinating workplace injury and illness case management programs while supporting the organization's Environmental, Health & Safety objectives.

What Will You Do?
- Workers' Compensation Claims Management
- Administer and track all workers' compensation claims from initial injury report through claim closure.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, supervisors, Human Resources, insurance carriers, medical providers, and third-party administrators regarding active claims.
- Ensure timely reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor claim status, medical treatment plans, work restrictions, and return-to-work timelines.
- Review claim trends and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve claim outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential workers' compensation records and documentation.
- Post-Injury Case Management & Return-to-Work Coordination
- Conduct post-injury follow-up with employees to ensure appropriate care and support throughout the recovery process.
- Coordinate return-to-work and transitional duty programs with supervisors, Human Resources, and healthcare providers.
- Monitor employee work restrictions and ensure compliance with medical recommendations.
- Facilitate communication among all stakeholders to promote timely and successful return-to-work outcomes.
- Track lost workdays, restricted duty assignments, and other injury management metrics.
- Incident Investigation & Risk Reduction
- Lead incident investigations for occupational injuries, illnesses, and near-miss events.
- Conduct root cause analyses and identify corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Monitor incident trends and develop recommendations to reduce workplace injuries and operational risks.
- Prepare investigation reports and communicate findings to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
EHS Program Support
- Support facility EHS programs through hazard assessments, safety observations, and risk reduction initiatives.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and employee engagement activities.
- Aid in developing and delivering injury prevention and safety awareness training.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements based on injury and claims data analysis.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing workplace injuries and improving employee well-being.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Human Resources, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing workers' compensation claims, occupational injury case management, EHS programs, or a related function within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping requirements and occupational injury reporting processes.
- Experience coordinating return-to-work programs and managing employee work restrictions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, OHST, ARM, WCCP, or similar credentials.
- Experience working with third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance carriers, and occupational health providers.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation regulations and claims management best practices.
- Experience utilizing EHS management systems, HRIS platforms, or claims management software.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
