About the role
EHS COORDINATOR, Civil and Environmental Engineering
Responsibilities
- Recommends corrective actions or consequences for significant issues to the PI and/or lab directors as appropriate and assists in implementation of the corrective actions and consequences.
- In the case of significant safety issues, promptly notify the PI, CEE space directors, Department Head, and the DLC EHS Committees.
- Ensure all research personnel receive the appropriate required initial safety training prior to beginning work.
- Maintain and monitor completion of refresher training through periodic reviews of DLC training records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science EHS, or a related discipline with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn specialized computer applications for EHS requirements.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work alone or within a team environment.
- Maturity of judgement, goal-oriented, adaptable, and a personality that will allow the candidate to function in a highly research-oriented yet disciplined environment that requires strong interaction with faculty, students, and research staff.
PREFERRED
- Experience in semiconductor device fabrication, biology, and/or chemistry.
- Lab experience in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in document and data management tools (e.g. Microsoft SharePoint sites, Wikis, QuickBase).
