About the role

The EHS Coordinator supports all aspects of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory compliance function for Imerys’ IFMG plants. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering EHS compliance programs, ensuring regulatory adherence, conducting audits, managing industrial hygiene sampling, and overseeing other EHS management activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer a wide range of EHS compliance and training programs.
• Conduct accident investigations and assist supervisors with injury management.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
• Coordinate testing of workplace air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct EHS audits and inspections of IFMG facilities and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate and participate in federal OSHA and environmental agency compliance inspections.
• Actively participate in the IFMG Safety Committee.
• Maintain all AEDs, fire systems, fire extinguishers, and eye wash stations.
• Manage environmental monitoring, including groundwater use and daily surrogate visible air emissions monitoring.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to interact with employees, vendors, regulatory agency representatives, and legal counsel.
• Ability to work in and understand industrial production environments.
• Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, presentations, and documents.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet regulatory deadlines.
• Ability to conduct effective employee training.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: 2-year college degree in EHS or a related field, or a High School diploma with at least 4 years of on-the-job EHS compliance and regulatory interpretation experience, coupled with relevant professional continuing education in the EHS field.
• EHS certifications are beneficial but not required.

Work Environment

• Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations may require extensive safety precautions, including the use of protective equipment.
• Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• Ability to lift and handle objects up to 50 lbs.
• Physical activities include: sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, and operating a keyboard/mouse (constantly); walking and standing (frequently); climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, and pulling (occasionally).
