EHS Coordinator

Purpose and Mission

Responsible for supporting the Plant SHE Manager in implementing and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs. This role involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• SHE Program Support:
  • Assist in implementation of SHE policies and procedures.
  • Support the SHE Plant Manager in ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Participate in regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and training.
• Training and Awareness:
  • Assist in delivering SHE training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Ensure all personnel are aware of SHE policies and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in SHE practices.
• Emergency Response:
  • Support the development and maintenance of emergency response plans.
  • Participate in emergency drills and training exercises.
  • Aid in coordinating responses to emergency situations.
• Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit SHE reports to the SHE Site Manager and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHE records.
  • Track and report on SHE performance metrics.

Skills

• Competence in safety techniques, including risk assessment.
• Proficiency in safety protocols and risk management.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
• ISO 14001 and 45001 knowledge.

Previous Experience

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a SHE department, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or a similar role.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering).
• Authorized certification required.
• ISO14001 Internal Auditor Certificate.
