EHS CCP Assessment and Development Coach
About the role
The Head Start Childcare Partnership Assessment & Development Coach at Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency (CAA) plays a crucial role in advancing our mission to expand opportunities and build self-sufficiency for our community members. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive coaching, training, and technical assistance to teaching staff in partnership childcare settings. The role aims to enhance the quality of classroom practices, improve child outcomes, and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. The Coach collaborates with partner staff to identify goals, implement development plans, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing assessments of teaching practices in partner classrooms using research-based tools and techniques.
- Develop individualized coaching plans for teaching staff, focusing on professional growth and alignment with program standards.
- Provide group-based training sessions on curriculum implementation, child development, classroom management, and other relevant topics.
- Offer hands-on, classroom-based coaching to support staff in applying new strategies and techniques.
- Monitor and document progress toward coaching goals and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Collaborate with program administrators to align coaching activities with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Assist partner sites in implementing evidence-based teaching strategies and maintaining high-quality learning environments.
- Stay updated on Head Start Performance Standards, state regulations, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of coaching activities, outcomes, and assessments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred); minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with a focus on coaching, training, or mentoring; knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and early childhood quality improvement frameworks; proficiency in assessment tools such as CLASS®, ECERS, or similar instruments; commitment to equity and inclusion in early childhood education; ability to work effectively with a diverse population including low to moderate-income families.

- Other Requirements: A valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance must be maintained.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work Location: 1740 Langdon Farm Road, Cincinnati, Ohio
- Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Physical Requirements: Ability to Talk, hear and communicate with co-workers, clients, children and/or parents; see and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents; use hands to manipulate, handle feel, and control items or equipment; use hands to operate into a laptop computer or tablet; lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds
