About the role
The U.S. Manager or Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) will lead HSE programs across Nextpower's U.S. operations and support compliance, risk management, incident prevention, training, auditing, and integration of acquired entities.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the company's global HSE strategy throughout U.S. operations.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE policies, procedures, standards, and management systems.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance documentation, records, and reporting systems.
- Support operational leaders in achieving HSE objectives and performance goals.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
- Develop and coordinate HSE training programs for employees and management.
- Provide guidance and coaching to local management teams regarding HSE requirements and best practices.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HSE effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive HSE experience, including responsibility for multiple facilities, business units, and/or geographic regions.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, CAL OSHA, ISO 140001 & 45001 standard and general environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience developing, implementing, and administering HSE programs and management systems.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action management.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 20–30% within the United States.
