About the role
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EH&S) Manager is responsible for directing all health, safety, and environmental related activities for the Scottsboro, AL plant. The role involves ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, managing the EHS Team, conducting incident investigations, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure facilities operate in compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements.
- Drive initiatives to identify and communicate facility risk exposures, prioritize risk reduction needs, and close recommendations to reduce risks.
- Champion initiatives to achieve OSHA VPP Star Site certification, including leadership in training and emergency preparedness processes.
- Facilitate and oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and closure of corrective actions.
- Establish and drive continuous improvement in environmental monitoring and recordkeeping data management systems.
- Ensure proper management and disposal of industrial process wastewaters, solid, universal, and hazardous waste.
- Complete and communicate HSE metrics and reports.
- Support functional safety plans and lead designated safety committees.
- Manage an hourly EH&S Technician, setting direction and deploying resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience in environmental, health, and safety in a manufacturing setting.
- Prior Safety Specific Training (OSHA 30 Hour, Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, etc.).
- Critical Life Safety Program Experience.
- Title V air permit management experience.
- Water permit management experience.
- Hazardous waste management experience.
- Significant knowledge of safety and environmental regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.) and ability to work with respective outside agencies.
- Strong organizational and training skills.
- Thorough proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Ability to work well with upper-level management and with production workforce.
- Solid leadership skills.
- Proven root-cause analysis skills.
- Solid analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems.
- Ability to direct personnel, coordinate contractors, and manage projects/processes within regulatory standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Pay
$105,900.00 - $145,600.00 Annual
Schedule
Minimal travel required (0 - 10 days per year)
