Position Summary

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced employment defense attorney to join our EEO Advantage Administrative Charges team as a Special Counsel attorney. The Special Counsel attorney will focus on handling administrative charges before federal, state and local agencies, including investigation, assessment and development of risk strategies, client interaction and preparation of persuasive position statements. The Special Counsel attorney will not have a billable hour requirement for this role and will have a flexible part-time schedule with the ability to work from home. Opportunities for a full-time position may be available. Candidates who apply should have extensive experience in preparing position statements in connection with large law firm or in-house practice. Please note, a writing sample is required to be considered for the Special Counsel role. A redacted position statement is strongly preferred at the time of submission. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where the firm has a physical office.

About the Role

The Special Counsel attorney will not have a billable hour requirement for this role and will have a flexible part-time schedule with the ability to work from home. Opportunities for a full-time position may be available.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor
  • Qualified candidates must reside in, remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of employment.
  • During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
  • 10+ years of recent experience preparing position statements required, either in-house or at a large law firm.
  • Significant management-side labor & employment experience required.
  • Superior analytical and writing skills required.

  • In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with Massachusetts Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act, the expected salary range for this Massachusetts position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Minnesota position is between $1,250 and $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
  • In accordance with NJSA 34:6B-23, the expected pay for this New Jersey position is $1,250 per completed Position Statement.
