EEO DISABILITY PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Reasonable Accommodation & Disability Program
Serves as the Lead EEO Specialist for the Disability Program and provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, and technical support to EEO Disability Program Specialists in the administration of the Reasonable Accommodation (RA) process for disability, religious accommodations, and pregnancy/childbirth-related accommodations.
Ensures timely processing of reasonable accommodation requests and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Administers the Reasonable Accommodation (RA) Program and serves as the lead technical advisor on accommodation requests involving disability, religion, and pregnancy/childbirth-related conditions.
Maintains expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, executive guidance, policies, and relevant case law issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), and other governing authorities.
Functions as the lead technical advisor and primary point of contact for complex accommodation matters in the absence of the Disability Program Manager (DPM), ensuring continuity of operations and support to management officials, supervisors, associates, and applicants.
Researches and analyzes applicable statutes, regulations, agency guidance, and case law to identify viable resolution options and provide informed recommendations on accommodation requests and program-related matters.
Applies this knowledge to provide technical guidance and recommendations to management officials, supervisors, applicants, and associates regarding accommodation rights, responsibilities, and procedural requirements.
Assists management in evaluating accommodation requests, identifying effective accommodation options, and making informed decisions that ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Oversees and monitors the processing of reasonable accommodation requests in accordance with DON and NEXCOM Reasonable Accommodation policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, consistency, and timely case management throughout all stages of the interactive process.
Reviews and processes accommodation requests, assists in the interactive process, and provides guidance and support to management officials, supervisors, Human Resources personnel, applicants, and associates regarding accommodation requirements and available resolution options.
Program Administration, Compliance & Data Management
Serves as the lead administrator for the Navy Enterprise Accommodation Tracker (NEAT) database, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and integrity of accommodation records and data.
Monitors database activity, generates reports, conducts quality assurance reviews, and provides data analysis to support program management, compliance monitoring, and reporting requirements.
Reviews accommodation case files for accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance.
Monitors case activity, program metrics, and accommodation trends to identify barriers, improve program effectiveness, and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of reports, databases, management briefings, and workforce analyses supporting program oversight and decision-making.
Collaborates closely with the Disability Program Manager to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, develop programmatic solutions, and recommend improvements that strengthen compliance, operational efficiency, customer service, and continuous improvement throughout the Reasonable Accommodation Program.
Disability Employment, Training & Outreach
Collaborates with the Disability Program Manager and Disability Program team to develop, coordinate, and deliver annual and ad hoc training programs that increase awareness and understanding of the Reasonable Accommodation Program throughout the enterprise.
Affords assistance in maintaining and analyzing disability workforce statistics, accommodation trends, EEO and Reasonable Accommodation data, and disability-related case law to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
Provides input into policies, procedures, workforce analyses, training materials, communication strategies, and disability employment initiatives that support the recruitment, retention, advancement, and inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
Collaborates in coordinating and supporting activities related to disability recruitment, employment, career development, retention, advancement, workplace inclusion, and reasonable accommodation awareness.
Facilitates training and outreach efforts designed to educate management officials, supervisors, applicants, and associates on disability employment initiatives, reasonable accommodation procedures, and workplace inclusion.
EEO Complaint Program
Processes EEO complaints, coordinates Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), develops and delivers EEO and Disability Program training, maintains EEO and related Reasonable Accommodation workforce data, disability workforce analysis, disability case law, and provides oversight of EEO and Disability Program functions as they relate to individuals with disabilities.
