Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with the patient and explains test procedures.
- Sets up and calibrates necessary equipment.
- Reviews records and interviews patients to obtain additional information.
- Operates various non-invasive monitoring devices.
- Records observations and analyzes test data to ensure appropriate data is collected.
- Aids END Tech I/II's in advanced procedures for epilepsy, Wada, depths, electrocerebral silence (ECS), and evoked potential (EP).
- Maintains lab equipment, ensures room is clean, institutes quality control procedures.
- Maintains proper stock of supplies and orders them as needed.
- Ensures patient safety through communication to other patient care staff.
- May perform various Transcranial Doppler (TCD) modalities.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Must become eligible for promotion into the EEG Tech I role within one (1) year of entry into the role.
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Associate's degree or enrollment in a CAAHEP accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program preferred.
- Six (6) months of working experience in a patient care environment preferred.
- Enrollment in the Utah END Institute preferred.
