EEG Technologist in Training

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with the patient and explains test procedures.
• Sets up and calibrates necessary equipment.
• Reviews records and interviews patients to obtain additional information.
• Operates various non-invasive monitoring devices.
• Records observations and analyzes test data to ensure appropriate data is collected.
• Aids END Tech I/II's in advanced procedures for epilepsy, Wada, depths, electrocerebral silence (ECS), and evoked potential (EP).
• Maintains lab equipment, ensures room is clean, institutes quality control procedures.
• Maintains proper stock of supplies and orders them as needed.
• Ensures patient safety through communication to other patient care staff.
• May perform various Transcranial Doppler (TCD) modalities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Must become eligible for promotion into the EEG Tech I role within one (1) year of entry into the role.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Associate's degree or enrollment in a CAAHEP accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program preferred.
• Six (6) months of working experience in a patient care environment preferred.
• Enrollment in the Utah END Institute preferred.
