EEC Certified Preschool Teacher (Full-Time) $2,000.00 Sign-On Bonus
Description
Under the supervision of the Early Learning Program Supervisor, the Preschool Teacher will provide direction for the classroom and implement curriculum which promotes social, cultural, educational, physical and emotional growth.
Job Duties
- Keeps up with NAEYC and DEEC standards.
- Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschoolers.
- Supervises all aspects of the classroom. Ensures care and safety of children.
- Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
- Maintains required program records i.e. (attendance, medical, and food service records).
- Posts schedule, curriculum and menus according to regulation.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, training, and YMCA special events.
- Adds additional duties as required and assigned by a supervisor to support the overall mission of the YMCA and to ensure the success of the Child Care Department.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Mets qualifications established by DEEC and QRIS.
- Associates degree preferred or evidence of enrollment in a college degree program.
- Must obtain current certification in CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention within first 3-6 months of employment provided by the Y.
- Experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.
- Able to plan, organize and implement age/developmentally appropriate program activities and curriculum.
About the Role
The Preschool Teacher position is part of the YMCA Child Care Department at the Sarah & Richard Hardy Center for Child Development. The position is full-time (non-exempt), Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:30pm, with a full benefit package including generous PTO, access to facilities, Medical, Dental, Disability, Life, Vision, & Pet Insurance, and the ability to participate in a 403B Retirement Savings Plan. New hires for Full-Time EEC teaching positions at the Sarah & Richard Hardy Center for Child Development will receive a $2,000 bonus which, $500 will be paid immediately upon hire, $500 upon completion of a 90-day review, and $1,000 at the 180-day mark.
Pay
$18.50-$22.00/hour (based on education and experience)
Schedule
40hrs/week. Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:30pm
