About the Role
Akkodis is seeking an EE Wire Harness Engineer for a contract position with a client in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing wire harness systems for consumer appliances, supporting product development from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop wire harness systems and electrical schematics for consumer appliance products, ensuring compliance with engineering and performance requirements.
- Create and maintain electrical drawings and schematic designs using Creo while providing technical direction to CAD teams on 2D and 3D modeling activities.
- Select appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, and harness materials to optimize product reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development, testing, and production implementation.
- Provide hands-on support on the shop floor, troubleshooting electrical issues and driving design improvements to enhance product performance and quality.
- Conduct design reviews, root cause analysis, and validation activities to ensure wire harness assemblies meet functional, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on wire harness design and development.
- Hands-on experience creating electrical schematics using Creo and directing CAD teams in the development of 2D/3D design documentation.
- Strong knowledge of wire harness materials, connectors, and electrical component selection for consumer appliances or electromechanical products.
Pay
$45.00 to $65.00 per hour. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
