Job Overview

RWJBH is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner/ Clinical Educator for our Oncology areas at the Morris Cancer Center at New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (required)
    • At least 5 years of nursing experience in Oncology inpatient & outpatient areas.
    • Certification in nursing specialty of given NPDP role (required)
    • 2 years of experience in nursing specialty of given NPDP role (required)
    • Preferred:
      • MSN or must be enrolled in MSN program nearing completion or Doctorate preferred
      • NPDPs for certain specialty areas may also have job specific qualifications, when appropriate

    Scheduling Requirements

    • Day Shift
    • Monday – Friday with some weekend commitment required
    • FT

    Pay Range

    • $112,254.90 - $142,156.86 per year

    Essential Functions

    • Plan and design orientation plan, develop and provide continuing education, provide in-service programs in accordance with the requirements of NJ Board of Nursing current regulatory guidelines the Code of Ethics and institutional guidelines
    • Implement and evaluate educational activities/programs for the dedicated orientees
    • Develop and maintain employee records
    • Serve as a resource person for education and promoted education in the Nursing Division
    • Responsible for maintaining competencies as required by regulatory agencies
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and deliver education to ensure quality and best practice
    • Designs, implements, and evaluates education and training programs using adult learning principles; maintains compliance with regulatory and Provider Unit standards, including contact hour programs and in-service education,
    • Assesses and identifies skills appropriate for competency validation
    • Disseminates information to departments regarding education/training programs offered by RWJBarnabas Health.
    • Provides opportunities for enhancing staff knowledge on high-risk and problem prone situations
    • Facilitates professional role development and practice role transitions, including the RN Residency Program, nurse externship, and experiences for nursing students
    • Represents nursing professional development specialty in hospital-wide/system-wide committees and councils; disseminates information accordingly
    • Facilitates experiences and learning opportunities for nurse externs and nursing students
    • Promotes and assists in scholarly inquiry
    • Contributes to improving quality services and productivity
    • Leads NPD initiatives for translating evidence-based findings into practice research
