What You'll Be Doing:
- Facilitate active learning instruction to students through planning and preparation to lecture, model, and use technology and other materials to supplement presentations
- Prepare course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Builds relationships to facilitate learning through the lens of culturally responsive and trauma sensitive pedagogy
- Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress
- Utilizes district software for mandated record keeping
- Uses data to drive instructional practices
- Manages student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Collaborates with students, colleagues, and parents to communicate necessary information regularly regarding student progress and student needs
- Establishs and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities
- Participates in faculty and professional development, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
- Performs related duties such as participating in Educator Rising, assisting students in selecting colleges to plan course of study in the education field, and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems
- Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with district schools to provide students with practicum experiences
- Participates in cross-collaboration activities across CTE and other academic programs
- Performs other duties as assigned
To Be Successful at This Job:
- Demonstrate experience and/or training in current techniques and skills in teaching secondary level students
- Teaching experience in urban school
- Knowledge of Missouri Learning Standards
- Mastery of curriculum writing and alignment to assessments
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Terms Of Employment:
- Length of work year: In person; 8 hours per day; 5 days/week; 187 work days
