Educator, DNALC NYC

Position Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on genetics and molecular biology instruction to precollege students visiting the DNALC for academic year field trips, summer camps, and extended research projects.
• Deliver in-school instruction.
• Assist with laboratory testing and prep.
• Conduct teacher training.
• Present public tours.

Position Requirements

• EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in science (biology or molecular genetics preferred).
• EXPERIENCE: Strong science background required with an interest and/or experience in teaching.
• OTHER: NYS teaching certification preferred, but not required. Recent PhD graduates who would like to pursue teaching careers are also encouraged to apply-especially those with experience in personal genomics, DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, or bioinformatics.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $58,000 - $78,000. The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
