About the role
RSU 40 is seeking flexible, student-centered Educational Technicians to support students across their special education programs.
Responsibilities
- Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development
- Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in a variety of settings
- Auxiliary with classroom routines, materials, and organization
- Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and program teams
- Help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments
What We're Looking For
- Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with children (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and willingness to support across programs
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations
- Commitment to student growth, inclusion, and dignity
Additional Opportunities

- Support community-based instruction
- Receive training in behavior support and intervention strategies
- Serve in Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) roles, if qualified
