About the role

This position coordinates the functions and structures of the Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement and assists with the K-12 STEM Outreach and Engagement Center, specifically as the grant coordinator. The role involves developing and implementing engagement and outreach for events.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and implements educational programs/projects for students, staff, and faculty.
  • Assists with planning and executing programs/projects.
  • Coordinates a variety of standard assignments and responsibilities.
  • Makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, supply usage, equipment purchases, etc.
  • Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems regarding programs/projects to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Works with multiple entities to ensure effective communication with internal and external partners (e.g., city partners, faculty, university and local police, dining, reservations, facilities).
  • Tracks and compiles data to report to leadership for larger reports (e.g., participation survey data).
  • Works with financial staff to ensure accuracy of contracts and invoices.
  • Schedules Morning Mayors, coordinates with Kent Bagnell at Results Radio for campus updates, and works with the Associate Director to determine speakers.
  • Schedules extension meetings and sends calendar invites.
  • Manages and updates the community connect calendar regularly.
  • Organizes and develops schedules for the state fair (both internal and external to the department).
  • Schedules hotel reservations for state fair participants.
  • Contacts state fair grounds for water barrels, electricity, and other logistical needs.
  • Schedules additional activities for the state fair.
  • Organizes after-action meetings for state fair briefings (follow-up and feedback).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 6 months of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with a wide range of work styles.
  • Experience working with multiple software systems and processes.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $17.05–$23.37 hourly. Salary is determined by factors including education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.
