Responsibilities
- Support families and individuals served by GLCATR in making day-to-day choices leading to greater independence and community participation.
- Aid in coordinating and developing one-on-one instruction and support for children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, in line with the treatment plan and behavior analytic skills assessment.
- Provide personal and/or medical assistance as needed, teach and role model appropriate behaviors and daily living skills, and offer behavior management assistance.
- Understand the preferences, aspirations, and challenges of those receiving services to support them in achieving their goals.
- Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the program during your shift, and train relevant staff in the absence of GLCATR Assistant Program Coordinators, GLCATR Program Coordinator, or GLCATR BCBAs.
- Implement responsibilities and actions in alignment with ROI’s Core Values and Vision and Mission Statements.
Essential Duties
- Establish a collaborative relationship with individuals served, families, and staff.
- Support ROI’s philosophies related to diversity, inclusiveness, and anti-racism, ensuring ROI remains an anti-racist organization.
- Assist in overseeing the service and behavior plan delivery by Intensive Residential Technicians I and II to ensure consistency with the treatment plan and IPOS.
- Successfully take on a leadership/supervisory role within the Program in the absence of the BCBA or other program supervisors, adhering to the same standards, expectations, and objectives.
- Complete documentation, including financial, billing, program, research, and agency-related data, as required by ROI policy and procedure and Supervisor’s instructions.
- Develop and implement behavioral protocols and behavior management intervention procedures based on assessments and treatment plans.
- Aid in training Intensive Residential Technicians to ensure all services are delivered consistent with identified goals in the PCP, behavior plan, and skill acquisition programming.
- Complete requirements for BCaBA/BCBA supervision as outlined by the BACB, including direct and indirect hours, regular meetings with the BCBA supervisor, timely completion of assigned tasks, and maintenance of required documentation.
- Teach and support individuals served to complete daily living skills as independently as possible, and assist or perform these tasks if necessary.
- Through role modeling and teaching, support individuals served in developing appropriate friendships and meaningful relationships.
- Administer medications according to ROI procedures.
- Maintain inventory and ensure the supply of program implementation materials and data collection supplies necessary for therapy sessions.
- Adhere to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code of the Behavior Analysis Certification Board.
- Achieve and maintain required training and certification, including but not limited to: ROI agency training, medication certification, 1st Aid & CPR certification, and physical intervention techniques certification.
- Pass background check screening; arrive on time and as scheduled to the work site; physically manage individuals served; assist with a wide array of physical needs; follow oral and written instruction; operate basic appliances and office equipment; and work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
- Show good verbal/written communication and computer skills.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with staff, individuals served, interdisciplinary team members, and families.
- Ability to achieve and maintain required training and certification, including but not limited to: ROI agency training, medication certification, 1st Aid & CPR certification, and physical intervention techniques certification.
- Ability to: pass background check screening; arrive on time and as scheduled to the work site; physically manage individuals served; assist with a wide array of physical needs; follow oral and written instruction; operate basic appliances and office equipment; and work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
- Good verbal/written communication and computer skills.
Preferred
- Six months experience in GLC Licensed Settings program.
- Approved driver status as determined by ROI.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and enrollment in GLC approved BCBA program or actively accruing supervision hours to complete BCaBA or BCBA certification per the BACB’s guidelines.
