Educational Assistant - Special Education at Oliver Springs Middle

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Mets "Highly Qualified" paraprofessional standards
• Satisfactory background check
• Pass drug screening

Duties

• Aid in the educational and social-emotional development of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher/case manager
• Carry out instructional plans as prepared by the supervising teacher
• Aid in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students
• Provide support and assistance for students inside and outside the classroom to facilitate learning and participation
• Aid in data collection for the classroom teacher
• Aid students with behavioral and/or emotional needs
• Aid the classroom teacher in preparing work for students
• Aid in providing modifications and accommodations as appropriate
• Aid students with self-help skills
• Aid students with mobility needs
• Physically assist with lifting and positioning of students with physical needs
• Maintain student confidentiality
• Work cooperatively as a member of the educational team
