Educational Aide - High School / Collision Repair

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Texas Education Agency paraprofessional educational aide certificate
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to get along with others and follow directions while working independently
  • Computer/typing skills or willingness to learn

Major Duties

  • Supervises small group student activities
  • Conducts one-on-one instructional activities
  • Performs clerical (instructional) activities for the classroom teacher
  • Distributes and collects instructional material
  • Aids in classroom management and supervision
  • Set up and assist with supervision of listening stations and/or centers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in variable environmental conditions
  • Possible travel by car, van or bus
  • Working alone or with others
  • Physical ability to do lifting of 10 lbs. or more
  • Talking, bending, kneeling, pulling, reaching, grasping, pushing, stooping, walking, standing, sitting, climbing, occasional running
  • Maintain emotional control under stress
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to assist students with toileting and personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, positioning and seizure activity
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn behavior management intervention techniques
