EDUCATION SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL SPECIAL EDUCATION

Part-time position (12 hours per week) at the Early Learning Center.

About the role

The Education Support Professional collaborates with the Special Education Liaison or Specialist to deliver specialized instruction, curriculum modifications, and classroom accommodations. The ideal candidate must be able to support students in both substantially separate and inclusion settings, and have experience or willingness to work with children who have social/emotional disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support students in substantially separate and inclusion classroom settings
• Deliver specialized instruction as directed by the Special Education Liaison or Specialist
• Implement curriculum modifications and classroom accommodations
• Assist with the needs of students with social/emotional disabilities
• Participate in Crisis Prevention Intervention/Safety Care training

Requirements

• Experience or willingness to work with children who have social/emotional disabilities
• Willingness to be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention/Safety Care

Pay and Benefits

Salary and benefits are as per the NAFT Education Support Professionals Local 4292 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
