Responsibilities
- Reviewing and summarizing project data
- Conducting field checks for compliance of construction with design documents and DSA requirements
- Monitoring, reporting, and providing recommendations and solutions to the College Project Director and PMO relative to current project status, delivery objectives, schedule, costs, budget, staffing, delays, disputes, changes, and compliance with SOP and other construction requirements
- Identifying risks, proposing approaches to mitigating their impacts, and maintaining a risk register database to enter and update risks and mitigation plans
- Cross-functionally coordinating with the College, Design Team, and others to develop and execute construction phasing and swing space plans and tracking progress against those plans
- Working with the Design Team, contractors, inspectors, DSA, and others to resolve complex, construction-related issues in a timely manner and within budget
- Directly overseeing the closeout of Campus Projects for compliance with the requirements of DSA, District, and PMO, including coordination with the College’s relocation project manager for activities related to FF&E, asset disposition/surplus, and other matters pertaining to relocation
- Aiding other CPLT and CPT members in the management and coordination of the planning, programming, and design phases of Campus Projects and in reporting to the College stakeholders, District, and PMO
Qualifications
- 7 years’ experience in management of multiple construction projects
- 2 years of the foregoing 7 years of experience in educational facility design and construction
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a closely related field
- Additional qualifying experience in excess of the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant provisions of the California Public Contract Code
- Experience in formal construction partnering
- A current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
- A current and valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
- Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA)
- Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include planning, design, construction, and closeout
- Experience in alternative delivery methods
- Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and successfully deliver projects
Pay
Salary Range: $155,000 to $175,000
