About the role

The Educational Liaison assists and supports residents, family, and the educational system throughout the entire treatment experience, from admission through discharge. This role contributes insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with parents and school upon admission to assess the educational needs of the client and establish an appropriate school work schedule.
  • Determines whether the client has any special educational requirements, communicates those needs to the treatment team, and assists the resident in fulfilling them.
  • Communicates with the client's school regarding assignments and tasks, facilitating their timely completion.
  • Updates the school counselor and parents on the client's educational progress.
  • Assists parents with communication to the school and school counselor.
  • If the client is not enrolled in school, helps parents enroll the client in an alternative school to complete educational minimums.
  • Contributes to the well-being of all residents by serving as a positive role model and demonstrating a professional, caring manner toward co-workers, residents, and guests.
  • Treats all residents, guests, and co-workers respectfully and courteously.
  • Maintains a clean environment and ensures the house is tidy.
  • Makes timely requests for leave and ensures coverage for any scheduled shift that is missed.
  • Performs any other assigned and/or requested duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least two years' experience working within the mental health, counseling, or eating disorders field, or
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and two years' experience working within the mental health, counseling, or eating disorders field, or
  • Master's degree from an accredited university and one year's experience working within the mental health, counseling, or eating disorders field.
  • Must possess a current Driver's License in good standing.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Pay

Pay Range: $22 – $23 hourly

Work Location

Onsite – Glenview, IL
